The most important thing to know about working at Mt. Pleasant Counselling is that we operate as a collective rather than a traditional clinic. This means that each counsellor here runs their own business individually and pays a flat fee per month for space and membership to the collective. Membership includes having your bio up on our website, referrals received and ability to work online outside of your set days in office.

This is very much a team of incredible business owners/therapists from different backgrounds and walks of life who are working alongside each other. My desire from the get go was to create a safe, non judgemental and empowering space for therapists who are passionate about what we do and are ready and willing to support one another as we all navigate running our own private practices.

While I generally look for overall fit on both sides, here are a few qualifications I have when looking to bring on another therapist:

  • 2+ years experience post masters degree

  • Interest in renting at least 2 days in office with the hopes of expanding

  • Trauma informed training and practice

  • Desire to operate as an individual business owner (managing your own Jane account, schedule, payments, client load etc.)
